Volkswagen XL1: a 261 MPG Car

 With doors that open like a Lamborghini this is more than your average plug-in hybrid. It gets from zero-to-62-mph in 11.9-seconds and has a 100 mph electronically limited top speed. The engine is a diesel twin, but power is up to 35 kW (48 hp), and Volkswagen announced this car gets 261 MPG! Doubtful it will keep that high figure when it's tested by an independent body, much like the Chevrolet Volt figures that came down from Chevrolet's early claims. Nonetheless it's MPG will undoubtedly be impressive; can't wait for this car to come out!
